In his Response to the New York Times, Father Raymond J. de Souza of National Review Online exposes the coordinated campaign to smear Pope Benedict XVI:
The Church challenges every facet of the secular world's agenda to sterilize, euthanize, and abort the dignity of the human person. The New York Times on March 25 accused Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, now Pope Benedict XVI, of intervening to prevent a priest, Fr. Lawrence Murphy, from facing penalties for cases of sexual abuse of minors. The story is false. It is unsupported by its own documentation. Indeed, it gives every indication of being part of a coordinated campaign against Pope Benedict, rather than responsible journalism …
Are we surprised, then, that the secular media would similarly try to abort the voice of the Church?
The attempt itself is abortive. The enemies of the Church are not the people who dream of a secular utopia—but rather the powers and principalities that tempt and use their earnest desires to rake the Church. And the gates of Hell will not prevail against Christ's Church (Matt 16:16-20).
Today is Tuesday of Holy Week. Christ and His Church move closer to embracing the Cross and committing to the Golgotha Path.
Let us arise and join them.

I am always interested in what you have to say, but have a difficult time with the white type on black background. :(
ReplyDeleteHmm … a couple things you can do to remedy the white-text-on-black problem.
ReplyDelete(1) Copy the post text and paste it into your word processor.
(2) Subscribe to my feed and forward the text to your email.
Anyone else have some ideas out there? I'd love to ease the time of those who have trouble w/ white text on black backgrounds.
